Kids World Bedford
Kids World in Bedford offers visitors a huge multi-level multi-colour adventure play frame that boasts all the classic fun features as well as padded equipment that kids want from the modern soft play area. There is a wide range of fantastic steps to climb up, walkways to scramble over and slides to whizz down.
There is also an area dedicated to toddlers and crawlers with smaller versions of the big fun and some age-appropriate toys and challenges of their own. The new veterinary playhouse in the under 5’s area is available now too!
Embankment Gardens and Russell Park
Embankment Gardens and Russell Park both boast a huge outdoor space for toddlers and kids to move around and play in with family and friends. If the kids had something more organized in mind, then maybe they would enjoy the Tennis, Football, Rugby, Putting, Bowling green, Table Tennis and Basketball facilities too. You can hire a family-sized rowboat if you feel like having an aquatic adventure, plus angling (including disabled platforms) is also available so if you’ve got any wee fisher folk then bring their stuff and remember to sort out the day license!
But for the more tamed hearted, take a scenic riverside walk which has a variety of lengths to enjoy, as well as a cafe service, Bandstand and the very necessary adventure play area, with physical play equipment suited to kids between 3 and 13, largely as set out in an assault course or trims trail style. There are plenty of well-kept gardens to saunter through and picnic in, and if you can keep them swinging between activities you have most of a day right here! And the ornate Victorian Suspension Bridge which runs across the river is a fabulous spot for a family photo, so bring the camera along.

They also offer a range of lessons for all ages as it’s never too early to learn to swim, plus aqua aerobic classes for ages 18 plus. Box End Park
Box End Park is set in rural Bedfordshire, surrounded by 100 acres of space and so has something for everyone. Similar to the hit show Total Wipeout, jump, climb and swing around Box End Aqua Parks obstacle course or just get out in the water and try out some wakeboarding and/or water skiing. However, if you prefer to stay on land the park is perfect for cycling or off-road running.
The park, which is owned and run by a local farming family, has been developed from a long-established agricultural business and now has various excellent facilities for you to make the most of, including a fine dining restaurant and caravan site.
