Colne Valley Railway Line

Visit Colne Valley Railway and ride along a beautiful restored train!

Colne Valley Railway is based in Essex and the mainline ride on the train is the perfect mini adventure! You will board your train on one of the restored coaches in the Colne Valley Railway station. Colne Valley Railway is the ideal attraction for all train enthusiasts and is loved by many!

This train journey will take you around 1/2 a mile heading towards Castle Hedingham’s village. You will then ride over and alongside the River Colne taking you to a loop which is called the Nunnery Junction. This is where a locomotive will rush around the train which you will be able to look out for out your window when approaching this junction!

This journey then carries on a non-stop ride through Colne valley Railway station and past these restoration areas where you are taken to a second loop that is called Drawell. The locomotive will run around the opposite side this time, you will return to the Colne Valley Railway station. Here you will get off and be able to explore the rest of Colne Valley Railway. This whole line is under 1 mile and you will only be approaching one station.
