Curve Theatre

Curve is a one of a kind, stunning, cutting-edge theatre located in the heart of Leicester’s thriving Cultural Quarter.
Curve connects almost 750,000 people each year through performances and projects throughout the UK, Leicester and abroad. Curve has built a reputation for producing, programming, and touring a daring and diverse programme of musicals, plays, new works, dance, and opera under the guidance of Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster. All of this is offered alongside a vibrant mix of community involvement, artist development, and learning programmes, emphasising the importance of audiences, artists, and communities in everything we do.
They work with people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them to access and engage in the arts. This is done by developing new and emerging talent and delivering excellent and award-winning theatrical experiences, is supported by our status as a registered charity.
Their award-winning edifice that was created by noted architect Rafael Violy and inaugurated by Her Majesty The Queen in 2008, provides a completely unique visiting experience.
They don’t have a regular backstage area like any other theatre in the UK. Audiences can see the entire theatre production process, see behind the scenes, and maybe even catch a glimpse of an actor or two sprinting from the stage to their dressing room or having a cup of coffee in the Café. The curved façade is made up of 46000m2 of glass and 1,192 tonnes of steel.
