Family Fun at Durlston Country Park

Durlston is a great place for children and families, with lots to do throughout the year…

Durlston Castle features colourful interactive displays, live wildlife cameras, a fossil room, and family friendly exhibitions, along with a well stocked shop, with pocket money souvenirs and snacks, drinks and baby changing facilities.

Outside, there are more than 320 acres of countryside to enjoy, bursting with exciting wildlife. Four waymarked trails help you get the most out of your visit, much of which are suitable for child buggies, especially if they are the larger wheeled all terrain style buggies. There are also a few tarmac paths and a road down to Anvil Point Lighthouse which is perfect for those buggies with smaller wheels.

Children’s Trails

Running throughout the summer – between 10am and 4pm

Their activity trails start at the Castle and follow one of their waymarked routes.  Find out which one is on now by looking at their events diary.  They all cost £3 from the Gift shop at Durlston Castle.

Family Explorer Rucksacks

Available to hire from the Castle, every day throughout the year, the Woodland Explorer Rucksacks are jam packed with fun activities for all the family, along the Woodland Trail.

Go on a Mini-beast Safari, take a walk through the woodland or take on the challenge of a Scavenger Race and more…

The bags are designed for families with children aged from 4 to 12 and take around 2 hours to complete. They are available to hire for half a day for £4. Booking is recommended 01929 424443 or contact them.
