This place is no stranger to most Liverpudlians who are aware of Mackenzie’s Tomb on Rodney Street and the story behind it. It is believed that there is nothing like anywhere in Liverpool or even the entire UK. The story is of a guy who was a civil engineer called William Mackenzie, part of his job was to dig railway tunnels. Mackenzie ends up becoming an avid addict of gambling and it was reported that he made deal with the devil. Apparently, it is believed that he would exchange his soul for a life full of never-ending good luck when he’s on the gambling tables. When he passed away in 1851, he requested for him to be entombed above the ground in a pyramid shape tomb, he instructed this because he wanted to prevent the devil from ever claiming his soul. Do you think this is just a myth or believe it happened for real? If so, why not visit the place in person?

Newsham Park Hospital

In 1879, this place was originally built as an orphanage for seamen’s children. It was not until 1954 when the building was converted into a hospital, where it was coincidentally receiving patients with severe mental health problems consistently. The hospital has closed its doors in 1997 with patients being switched and staff relocating. However, the story does not end here, there are alims that there is some activity going on at the hospital; multiple locals have made sure they spotted a female nurse in the hospital treating patients several times. Soon after, a female nurse was found dead at one of the hospital’s wards. Now, who would want to come close to such a hospital let alone at night? We recommend you avoid it at all costs.
