We have listed some brand new events that will be taking place throughout the new year within the arts and culture industry! With a range from museums to theatres, there will be something that’s guaranteed to grab your attention!
1. A Space To Be – Scarborough Museums Trust
February 2022 – February 2023
Scarborough Art Gallery, The Crescent, Scarborough, YO11 2PW
A Space to Be is inspired by people adjusting to a world that is still dealing with and emerging from the pandemic, recognising that communities may want support in regenerating.
You can find A Space to Be in a communal space in Scarborough Art Gallery, which will open in February 2022 with the goal of providing a warm welcome to tourists and community groups. This one-year pilot project (February 2022–February 2023) will assist Scarborough Museums Trust in becoming a more democratic, inclusive, and relevant venue for all.
2. Carmen – Opera In A Box
19th February 2022 – 27th February 2023
The Station, Bristol – BS1 2AG
Join them as Opera In A Box performs Bizet’s Carmen in Bristol’s Old Fire Station, exploring the themes of desire, love, and fate. Opera In A Box is known to bring classic opera to new audiences in the South West via unique and engaging presentations. The show will not be any different. Join everyone in Seville to see the excitement of the Toreadors, the ecstasy of romance, and the anguish of jealousy, performed in an intimate setting, up close, and in English.
3. Daniel Lismore – Coventry UK City Of Culture
18th Feb 2022 – 26th June 2022

Daniel Lismore, a highly regarded international artist, will be having a major exhibition.
Lismore was born and raised in Coventry, is an artist, designer, perfumer, stylist, and human rights, activist. This UK premiere highlights the interplay of art, architecture, foreign cultures, beauty, and fashion in a truly magnificent and immersive experience.
Lismore’s sculptural outfits are on show, each crafted from his collection of over 7,000 oddities and presented with his library of photography, film, and discovered items. Many of the artworks on show are for the first time, and they represent Lismore’s multi-faceted character, focusing on themes of personal expression and self-preservation.
4. Madama Butterfly – Wycombe Swan Theatre

Senbla offers the award-winning Ellen Kent Production of Opera International, including international singers, a lauded chorus, and a complete orchestra.
Welcoming back Elena Dee, a distinguished Korean soprano, and Alyona Kistenyova, a celebrated international soprano.
This award-winning opera returns in a new production with gorgeous scenery, featuring a spectacular Japanese garden, and fabulous costumes, including antique bridal kimonos from Japan, thanks to great audience demand.
Puccini’s Madama Butterfly is one of the world’s most popular operas, telling the heartbreaking storey of a beautiful young Japanese girl who falls in love with an American navy captain, with tragic repercussions.
The melodious ‘Humming Chorus,’ the emotional aria ‘One Fine Day,’ and the iconic ‘Love Duet’ are among the highlights.
