How do I book a party at the Museum of Royal Worcester?
As our Paint Your Own Pottery Parties are popular, they recommend booking as far ahead as possible and at least a fortnight in advance. They offer time slots at either 12pm or 2pm, once a date has been found, they will reserve your time slot upon payment of a 50% non refundable deposit. They also require a signed and dated copy of their Children’s Party Terms and Conditions when booking.
Can I bring decorations to my Paint Your Own Pottery Party?
Yes. They love decorations, please bring a few decorations and of course a cake for the celebration.
Are there kitchen facilities at the Museum?
No. Please be aware that there are no kitchen facilities to utilise at the Museum. All utensils required (cutlery, plates, cups, napkins) will need to be brought to the Museum by the party organiser. They request that no nuts or nut based foods are brought to the Museum.
Can I book out the whole of the Museum studio for my party?
During your party there may be other Museum visitors and potentially other users of the studio space. However, they will give each booked party an extra table to utilise for parents and for serving the cake.
If you would like to book out the entire studio space this can be arranged for an additional price, providing there are no previous bookings already in place. Please just ask when making your booking.
Can I leave children unattended during the party?
At the museum they love children, but they do ask that there is at least one supervising adult to be present (per painting table of up to 6 children) for the duration of the party. The ceramic tables are organised in tables of six.
Are refreshments available at the Museum?
They have a selection of hot drinks available to purchase from the Studio on the day of the party, along with cartons of Cawston Press children’s drinks, please ask when booking.
When will our party pottery be ready?
Once you and your guests have finished painting, you will leave the item(s) in their capable hands. They will take your item, glaze it and fire it in our kiln. Colours will become richer, and your item will have a hard shiny clear surface – which is food safe.
They need 7 – 10 days to glaze and fire (this may be longer during busy periods), and will then contact you to let you know your items are ready for collection.
Where are you located?
They are located close to the Cathedral, nearby parking, and just a short walk from the high street. If you are using SatNav or GPS, enter postcode: WR1 2NE for the most accurate location.
There is plenty of pay and display parking adjacent to the Museum on Severn Street and Kings Street Car Park. They have cycle racks and offer free coach parking for pre-booked group visits.
