Hockley woods is the largest area remaining from the wild wood. The wild wood spread across Essex during the Ice Age which took place over 10,000 years ago. This woodland is filled with plenty of different tree types such as Oak and Swee Chestnut. There are also bird feeders hanging on trees which attract different bird breeds. There are two trails that you can follow through the woods.
