The Most Haunted Village in England

Are you brave enough to visit this village? Or will you be too spooked by the previous reports of paranormal activity.

Pluckley is a village in Ashford, Kent. It is in the middle of the beautiful countryside where the surroundings are quiet and the days are always tranquil. The village is extremely picturesque and is known as the wonderful backdrop for a famous 90s show named The Darling Buds of May. Although this beauty is not all that it seems! it is also known for being the most haunted village in England.

It was even named the most haunted village in Britain in 1989 by the Guinness Book of World Records. Due to a shocking 12-16 clear ghosts being reported to have been seen in the village. There have been many ghostly stories circling Pluckley and the best-known one is about ‘The Watercress Woman’ which many witnesses have confessed to having seen her perched on the pinnock Bridge whilst smoking her pipe. She was well known previously for gathering watercress and selling it to the villagers, this was her way of making a living. There is a story that after a long day in the evening, after having a few drinks she had fallen asleep whilst smoking her pipe. The pipe then caught her clothes and set her on fire. And it is believed that she still haunts this bridge. People have reported that they have seen a pink glow faintly hovering over the spot where she had passed away.

Many people have ventured to Pluckley hoping to find something lurking in the village. In hopes to capture spirits in action and perhaps proof of the paranormal activity throughout the village. Why don’t you head down and discover the ghosts for yourself or are you not brave enough?…
