Visit Amberley Museum
Amberley Museum offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore the South’s industrial and rural heritage. See a wide range of fascinating exhibits and quirky collections in the heart of the South Downs National Park, surrounded by an old chalk quarry.
On 36 acres there is a lot to discover, indoors and outdoors. You can learn about industry, communications, transportation, traditional crafts, and even nature trails!
Every day they provide train rides on their narrow-gauge railway and a bus service which takes you around the Museum grounds.
Their team of friendly and knowledgeable volunteers are on hand to demonstrate, chat and reminisce.
Enjoy freshly prepared food at lunchtime, together with sandwiches, snacks, cakes, ice creams and hot drinks throughout the day in their onsite Café.
There is a playground for youngsters as well as many more activities for children and families around the Museum.
Dogs are welcome on short leads in all buildings, including the Café!
Most of the site is wheelchair accessible, including their trains.
Groups are welcome, they have a discounted rate for groups of 10 or more, with coach parking available.
Situated right next to Amberley train station (on the Arun Valley Line) and with a large free car park, they are easy to get to.
