They are an independent charitable trust that operates three fantastic cultural venues in Basingstoke.

The Anvil, which seats up to 1,400, is renowned as one of the top 5 concert halls in country. Within the same building is The Forge – an intimate 95-seat studio theatre. In the heart of the town centre is their 400-seat theatre, The Haymarket, set within a Grade II listed building.

Anvil Arts creates a year-round programme encompassing the best in music, performance, cultural education, arts participation, and outreach work.

Since opening in 1994, they have sold over 5,000,000 tickets, and brought audiences to Basingstoke from as far afield as Argentina, Iceland, Canada and Japan.

They take the customers’ experience very seriously. 95% of customers have rated their visit to Anvil Arts as either ‘Very Satisfied’ or ‘Satisfied’ for two years in a row, and they have received the Certificate of Excellence for customer service for six years in a row.

They are proud to bring world-class artists to Basingstoke, and we ensure that the people of Basingstoke have access to the highest quality musicians, artists, facilitators and practitioners, and they exist to empower people of all ages in the community to celebrate and engage with their own creativity. (30,000 young people from their local community perform on our stages every year.)
