Trains arrive at the station, which is located close to the Apedale Heritage Centre. On the North Staffordshire Railway, the station building was once located in Silverdale. The trip takes around 15 minutes round way.
Depending on the day, trains are pulled by steam or diesel locomotives from the Trust’s collection. The coaches are also historically significant, ranging from a reproduction of a coach employed in a slate quarry in North Wales to a more modern coach that once ran on the famed Ffestiniog Railway. Some coaches are open and unheated, so dress warmly if it’s a cold day.
