Visit Ashton Court Estate
The Ashton Court Estate, formerly the elegant residence of the Smyth family, is now a historic park only ten minutes from Bristol’s centre. Humphry Repton created it, which spans 850 acres of forests and meadows.
Visit the Ashton Court Estate to view the beautiful ancient oak trees and deer graze on an estate that was formerly a deer park over 600 years ago.
Sports and adventure
Two 18-hole pitch-and-putt golf courses with magnificent views of the city are located on the estate’s higher elevation. Special paths are available for orienteering and mountain biking, and there is lots of open area for family activities and picnics. A small train is also available on certain weekends throughout the year. For the most daring, Ashton Court is one of the few locations where you can ride in a hot air balloon or learn about the odd sport of Disc Golf.
Courtyard Café
After you’ve had your fill of exploration, go to one of the two on-site cafés for some delectable local pastries, freshly made sandwiches, and a variety of beverages and snacks. The dog-friendly cafés are open all year and include indoor and outdoor seating as well as play areas for children.
