For almost two centuries, Band on the Wall has been a pillar of Manchester’s vibrant music and cultural environment. Their goal is to promote equality and diversity through music and to bring top performers from across the globe to the stage – both locally and nationally, via touring programmes and pioneering creative music initiatives at their award-winning Manchester venue.
While establishing a reputation for bringing the best jazz, folk, blues, and foreign music to Manchester, Band on the Wall was also at the heart of the city’s famous post-punk scene in the late 1970s, when Buzzcocks, The Fall, and Joy Division performed at the club.
Band on the Wall is a live music library, a place where everyone and everyone can access and enjoy the most inspirational music from a wide range of cultures. They are dedicated to creating opportunities for everyone to participate in the creation and enjoyment of music.
