Beeston Castle is a historic royal castle in Beeston, Cheshire, England. In the 1220s, Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, returned from the Crusades and commissioned the construction of the castle in his honour. Beeston Castle, perched atop a rocky crag and offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, is one of the most dramatically sited mediaeval castles in England. During the summer, you can see all the way across England and Wales, including across the Pennines. Beeston Castle is a historic site with a 4,000-year history, a replica Bronze Age roundhouse, and a 40-acre woodland park. It has something for everyone to enjoy.
