Glassblowing Demonstrations

It is free to come in and watch the glassmakers in action at their studio and there is no need to book if your group is under 10 in number. The glassmakers are a friendly bunch and will be happy to answer your questions as they work. Normal blowing times are from 10am – 4pm with breaks at 11am, 3pm and lunchtime.

Guided Glassblowing Demonstrations

For groups of 10 and over, their group visits are a great way to learn about the magical material “glass”. You will get a fascinating insight into how they make their products together with some guided demonstrations of some of their pieces being made. They provide an entertaining and interesting talk about the history of glass, from its origins over 4,500 years ago, right up to its use in the present day. The talk also includes an amusing potted history of their famous city of Bristol.

Blow Your Own Bauble

They also offer a special “Blow Your Very Own Bauble” visit. You can do this your own, as a couple or a group, or you can even do it as a group with and added talk and guided demonstrations of some of their pieces being made. They will show you how to blow glass and you can then make your very own bauble which you can later keep (once its called and ready).
