Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, which first opened its doors in 1905, is home to Bristol’s world-class collections, which range from dinosaurs and diamonds to superb fine art and Egyptian mummies. Two-hundred galleries with a rotating schedule of big-budget shows take visitors on a journey through time, from the dawn of civilization to today. Because of the importance of the collections, the Government has designated several as “Designated” (exceptional status), including geology, Eastern art, Bristol history, and English delftware.

Built in 1766 as a place where the people of Bristol could come together, Bristol Old Vic is the oldest continuously working theatre in the English speaking world. It was built as a symbol of the pride Bristolians have in their city and what it can achieve and remains a place of joy, discovery and adventure to this day.
