Near Banbury, North Oxfordshire, lies Broughton Castle, a historic manor house with a moat and fortifications. Broughton Castle is the family home of the 21st Lord and Lady Saye & Sele. Since 1447, the Castle’s ownership has been passed down through several generations of the Fiennes family.
When visiting, you can expect to find different areas like the Gatehouse, the Great Hall, the expansive Dining Room, the Chapel, and the Gallery around the property. These as well as royal chambers such as Queen Anne’s Room and The King’s Chamber – are all featured in the house. You can also enjoy the picturesque view of the Victorian Garden at Broughton Castle which was created in the 1800s.
On your visit, if you get get a bit peckish, help yourself to a light lunch and some refreshments at the castle’s Tea room.
