Chorley Little Theatre, which opened its doors in 1910 as Chorley’s first electric cinema, has now evolved into a flourishing arts facility in the heart of the town’s cultural district. For more than 85 years, the amateur dramatics club CADOS has owned and maintained the venue, which has been presenting high-quality performances since 1960. As of today, CADOS is presenting at least six performances every Season.
Additionally, the Chorley Youth Theatre, which meets every Saturday and puts on plays throughout the year, is located there, as is the Chorley Empire Community Cinema, which offers a 21-foot huge screen featuring 8-speaker Surround Sound and a cinematic experience.
It’s a fantastic theatre for comedy, with travelling comedians performing there throughout the year. There are also small-scale music events featuring excellent local bands.
The Theatre, which is totally run by volunteers, is perfectly equipped to put on a fantastic evening of entertainment. The tiny auditorium is ideal for performances such as plays, musicals, stand-up comedy, and music.
With 236 fully-upholstered chairs, cutting-edge sound systems, and a comprehensive array of lighting equipment, it is the perfect venue for any event.
To the back of the stage, there are two large Dressing Rooms, one of which is specifically designated for costumes.
The fully licensed Empire Bar offers a diverse selection of beverages at competitive pricing. All public areas of the facility, including the toilets, are accessible to those with disabilities, as well as the auditorium that is equipped with a hearing loop. There are three wheelchair spots available in the auditorium.
