Visit Dartington Hall
Craft classes, Barn Cinema screenings, live arts events and great gastronomy are all part of the year-round programming at the historic Dartington Hall, close outside Totnes.
For those who prefer not to drive, Totnes has a mainline station approximately 1.5 miles from their estate. Beautiful Grade I listed Dartington Hall on a 1,200-acre private estate near Totnes. The 50 unique guestrooms set around a 14th-century courtyard offer a great blend of tradition and comfort where you can escape the contemporary world.
Food is served from The White Hart restaurant to The Green Table and Roundhouse cafés. Local producers, some from their own estate, are supported, and seasonal, local produce is served. Their on-site cafe/restaurant caters to all tastes and appetites, focusing on fresh, locally produced food. There’s a great range of local beers and wines at The White Hart. Open every day from 12pm until 11pm. The Green Table Café serves fresh seasonal food and excellent pastries every day from 9am – 6pm. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available daily from 11am to 8pm at the Roundhouse Café.
Over 800 acres of magnificent Grade II* listed gardens, wonderful walks and a recently renovated 700-year-old deer park are nearby.
Take a guided tour of their freshly restored 700-year-old deer park every Friday from 11am -12pm from the Visitor Centre. Tours run March-October.
Seven days a week, the 14th-century Barn cinema in the grounds screens indie, international, and popular films. Arts in Dartington is in a dynamic phase. In August, they host their Summer School, which entails a month of concerts, with three performances most nights, encompassing folk, jazz, and classical.
They also offer craft classes in beekeeping, printing, and artisan bread.
