The hall, in common with a number of other local landmarks, is named after Simon De Montfort – sixth Earl of Leicester and a crucial figure in medieval history who established the first parliament in 1265.
Today their affectionately-known “De Mont” continues its long tradition of entertainment by being one of England’s busiest and most popular live venues.
You can also help yourself to drinks and snacks at the hall’s Victorian and Garden Suite Bars. The bar offers a variety of real ales, draught and bottled beers, ciders, wines, spirits, and a Fairtrade tea and coffee selection. Non-alcoholic and gluten-free options are also available. De Mont’s kiosks offer a selection of freshly made sandwiches, sweets, soft drinks, ice-creams including a vegan option and snacks; and a Fairtrade tea and coffee selection.
