Didcot Railway Centre is a former Great Western Railway engine shed and locomotive stabling point in Didcot, Oxfordshire, England, that has been transformed into a railway museum and preservation engineering center.
There’s so much to See and Do:
In the 1932 Engine Shed, you’ll find 15 or more preserved locomotives. Climb atop the footplates of those with stairwells and put yourself in the shoes of a driver or fireman.
The Museum has a variety of artefacts relating to the Great Western Railway’s heyday, including a platform ticket machine, brass nameplates, and unique posters.
In the Refreshment Rooms, you may get a drink or a snack to go. If you want to learn more, you can also pick up a keepsake or a book from the Gift Shop’s extensive selection.
You can also expect to find many other treasures from the locomotive turntable to the towering coal stage, to the pipe from Brunel’s innovative railway, and much more!
