Dinosaur Isle is Britain’s first purpose-built dinosaur attraction, located just over the sea wall in Sandown, where visitors may step back in time to the time of the dinosaurs 120 million years ago in a fantastically formed edifice reminiscent of a Pterosaur flying above the cretaceous skies.
Life-size models of the Isle of Wight’s famed five dinosaurs NEOVENATOR, EOTYRANNUS, IGUANODON, HYPSILOPHODON, and POLACANTHUS are set in a recreated setting. Pterodactyls soar above you, accompanied by the melancholy sounds of a long-forgotten forest.
You will be able to witness dinosaur skeletons as they are discovered by fossil hunters and observe our volunteers as they prepare the most recent thrilling discovery. At Dinosaur Isle, you’ll be able to explore the forgotten world of dinosaurs that once roamed the Isle of Wight freely.
There’s even a robotic dinosaur that you can operate among the museum’s many hands-on interactives!
