Delightfully woven into the magnificent tapestry of the Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire borders, explore a garden that includes a laburnum tunnel, glasshouse, alpine scree with pool, rose walk, edible woodland, seasonal borders and rhododendron filled woodland with waterfall.
The garden is both formal and informal, hosting a network of paths that invite the visitor to explore and discover the intimacy and tranquillity of the garden. Relax in the tearoom with a terraced lawn paying tribute to spectacular views.
Originally designed by Colonel Clive for the love of his wife. The Dorothy Clive Garden was set up as a charitable trust, with the objectives of maintaining, enhancing and developing a garden inspired by the memory of the late Dorothy Clive, to be used for the enjoyment of the public and to support horticultural education for the continuing benefit of both students and visitors.
The garden hosts a range of horticulturally inspired events throughout the open season, including the twice-yearly Plant Hunters’ Fair. There are also special events for children including garden trails, giant games and summer picnics.
