Frederic Lubbock’s Edwardian mansion, charming Emmetts Garden, became a plantsman’s passion as well as a much-loved family home. William Robinson inspired the design of the garden, which was built out in the late 1800s. It has a diverse collection of exotic and uncommon plants and shrubs from throughout the world. Emmetts Garden, perched on one of Kent’s highest points, provides panoramic views of the unspoiled Weald as well as some excellent walking possibilities. You may wander around the rose and rock gardens, take in the vistas, and see displays of spring flowers and shrubs, followed by vivid fall colours.
