Exmoor Zoo is a great place to make memories.
This Zoo is one of the “West-hidden country’s jewels” on the border of the National Park, is a great place to spend a day in north-west Exmoor. Discover uncommon and exotic species such as, binturong and tayra that are seldom seen in other zoos, as well as everyone’s favourites like meerkats, lemurs, and their larger cats and dogs! All-day long, they have interactive and encounter sessions that you can participate in, such as wallaby feeding and stroking, seeing their alpacas, and their educational encounter activities and presentations about the animals the zoo cares for
Visitors may gain a glimpse into the life of creatures from all over the world during the many seasons on Exmoor. For anybody, the calmness of Exmoor, the charm of rural Devon, and the near proximity of the world’s most unique creatures is a “must visit” experience! From the world’s quickest animal, known as the cheetah. All the way to one of the slowest, which is the African spurred tortoise, any guests will have plenty of opportunities to learn, become inspired, or participate.
Exmoor Zoo is home to the infamous Exmoor Beasts, the only UK duo of black leopards, and offers a special “beast” lecture at 4 p.m. six days a week. Do you suppose they wander your countryside? Are you courageous enough to handle a spider or even one of their snakes during the mid-day interaction activities? Perhaps you’d rather do something more charming, like meet the fluffy zoo babies, which should be less frightening? You’ll even have the opportunity to witness wolves and lynx, which were formerly common in the UK’s mediaeval wilds.
It’s the pleasure and discovery of a beautiful natural zoo that makes this one a visit with plenty for everyone to enjoy!
