Farleigh Hungerford Castle is a lovely place to visit.
The remnants of Farleigh Hungerford Castle may be seen in a picturesque valley along the River Frome, on the boundary of Wiltshire and Somerset and approximately nine miles from Bath
It was founded during the 14th century and still has a lot to offer tourists. It’s a fantastic trip out for families, children, couples, and even hikers who want to take in the scenery.
The extraordinary Hungerford family lived in this fortified house for 300 years, and now their fascinating, though often terrible stories are recounted through vivid interpretative panels as well as a free audio tour.
There are numerous hidden gems, including a church with rare mediaeval artworks and family graves, comprehensive exhibitions in the Priest’s home, and the greatest assortment of human-shaped coffins made from lead in Britain for those courageous enough to explore the crypt.
