The Apsley Paper Trail is a non-profit organisation devoted to preserving Frogmore Paper Mill’s distinctive industrial heritage near Hemel Hempstead.

In 1803 Henry & Sealy Fourdrinier picked Frogmore Paper Mill for the trials of their newly developed paper machine. Thus started the paper industry’s industrial revolution, which resulted in the low-cost, abundant paper goods that we all use every day.

Frogmore is still an operating paper mill, but it is now a tourist, education, and community usage centre thanks to the charity that manages it. The trust’s revenues are re-invested in the mill’s and historic machinery’s repair, upkeep, and expansion, which is totally self-sustaining but not for profit.
