Fyne Court is a beautiful hidden gem nestled in the Quantock Hills. Spend time in this wild garden, which was once a family estate but has since been reclaimed by nature.
Until 1894, when the mansion had been destroyed by fire, the estate was home to the Crosse family. Andrew Crosse, the ‘Thunder and Lightning Man’ and Fyne Court’s most famous resident, became a recluse once his controversial discoveries were made public.
Before conducting a circular walk of the site, you may learn more about this, including how the fire started where the residence used to be. In June, go on a tour of Fyne Court to discover more about its history.
Families may engage in activities such as building a den, conquering beautiful fallen trees, and swimming through streams. Along the Fyne Court play trail, there are lots of picnic places, as well as hidden activities.
Indulge in one of Somerset’s famous cream teas or a sweet treat in the courtyard tea room. Enjoy a light lunch and ice cream on the grass in the shade.
