Geevor tin mine, situated in Pendeen upon the dramatic Cornish coast, is more than a mine and a museum. It is one of the best-preserved mine sites throughout the country as well as a Cornish Mining World Heritage Site. Geevor’s collections and guides, housed through two acres with listed buildings, bring Cornwall’s rich industrial history to life.
Geevor was made up of over 100 miles with tunnels that ran a mile beneath the sea. The tin mine has served as a museum as well as an education centre for Cornish mining since its closure in 1990, preserving this important part of Cornish history.
