Explore the Cavens!
Kents Cavern is one of Europe’s most popular and fascinating Stone Age caves, with a vast labyrinth of beautiful and easily accessible tunnels that are open daily, all year, at one of the continent’s most interesting Stone Age caves. These award-winning attractions, which include the Stone Age habitat of Britain’s earliest humans as well as Ice Age animals, will take you on an underground trip with their engaging guides. During a tour of the caverns, you will discover interesting tunnels and breathtaking chambers where you will be able to get up close and personal with thousands of year old cave formations.
There’s much to do outside of the caverns, including exciting family events throughout the school holidays, as well as the Woodland Trail, where you may use the talents of your ancestors to make your way through the forest. Hunt for species such as woolly mammoths, hyenas, and cave bears, and see if you have what it takes to survive the Stone Age at the spear-throwing and shelter-building stations. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to Firestone Kitchen, the caverns’ official food and beverage destination, for high-quality fare served all day and every day of the week.
Note: You do not have to go to the caverns in order to enjoy Firestone Kitchen! Over the course of the school holidays, there will be a variety of additional craft workshops available to participate in. There are several unique events held throughout the year, including the well-known Santa in the Caves experience, Carols Underground, Candlelit tours, Cave Cinema, Dinosaur Quest, and many more.
