Visit King John’s Hunting Lodge
This old Tudor timber-framed wool merchant’s house (circa 1500) offers a fascinating look into the history of the area.
The presence of arcaded booths opening over onto the street just on the ground floor (replicated by the National Trust during the building’s restoration) adds to the building’s strong mediaeval character.
Please note that Axbridge as well as District Museum Trust operates King John’s Hunting Lodge as a local history museum. The entrance fee is £2.50 per person, but National Trust members are admitted free of charge.
