The Y Theatre is a thriving live entertainment facility in the heart of Leicester. Music, comedy, drama, dance, new work, and family performances are all part of their diverse lineup. The 300-seat theatre can also accommodate candle-lit cabaret-style performances and standing concerts. The Y is Leicester’s oldest surviving Victorian theatre, having been built in 1900.
They foster the growth of new, developing, and established performance inside an open and inviting theatre, thus establishing a centre of activity for local artists.
The YMCA is also a thriving organisation that provides assisted housing for young people aged 16 to 25 who do not have a secure place to live. Individual assistance and advice are provided by a variety of specialised workers and partners to assist them in gaining independence. Throughout the year, they actively fundraise to ensure that their services continue to assist young people in Leicestershire.
