Things To Do In Lincoln Cathedral!
The Teaching Window
George Boole, the creator of “Boolean Logic” and unknowing grandfather of the digital society, was born in Lincoln in the early 1800s and was one of the city’s most brilliant thinkers. Today’s digital technology, including smartphones, tablets, and wearable gadgets, is built on the Boolean language. The Teaching Window, located in the fourth window of the cathedral’s north wall, is dedicated to him. It shows Samuel’s calling, which is one of his favourite Bible passages.
The Organ
Above the choir screen, the massive Father Willis Organ stands high. It’s not only lovely to look at, but it’s also one of the country’s best instruments. It has stayed very faithful to how it was when it was created and hasn’t been changed much through the years. Father Willis is a genuine treasure.
