The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre is a family-run museum that has been in operation for almost 20 years. It is now generally regarded as a live memorial to the 55,500 soldiers of Bomber Command who died during World War II. It has one of the rarest aeroplanes in its collection, an Avro Lancaster Bomber, as well as several wartime vehicles, along with a Ford WOT1 Crew Bus, the only one of its kind known to survive. The average age of aircrew, every man a volunteer, was 22 years old, and only one in every four finished their first tour of 30 missions, a debt that we will never be able to repay but one which should not be forgotten. They are situated at the former RAF East Kirkby airstrip. They have kept the old Control Tower from the 1940s, and their Hangar is built on the original wartime hangar structure.
