The Museum offers visitors an extensive series of displays, with many hands-on activities including lots for children and a small cinema where you can see wonderful archive film footage. If you haven’t visited for a while, you’ll be surprised to see how much there is! The museum began life in 1968 and over the years local people have raised funds for various extensions and redevelopments. The most recent was in 2010 when a Heritage Lottery Fund grant made possible a major overhaul of displays.
