With a history that dates back nearly 200 years, Manchester Art Gallery was founded as The Royal Manchester Institution for the Promotion of Literature, Science, and the Arts and has been a proud member of Manchester City Council since 1882. Manchester Art Gallery is located in the heart of the city and is open to the public daily.
