Manchester’s Opera House is one of the city’s largest. Concerts, musicals, ballets, and a Christmas pantomime are among the musical and theatrical acts held at the facility each year. The Opera House is a Grade II structure, thus it has seen its share of ups and downs. The 15-bay Manchester Opera House was built in the Classical style. The opera theatre has a seating capacity of 1,920 persons. Each of the theatre’s two cantilevered, curving balconies can house 500 people. Because of its wide stage and orchestra pit, this theatre is ideal for musicals and symphonic performances. The theatre has a stage that is 37 feet wide and 42 feet deep, as well as an orchestra pit that can hold up to 80 musicians. Despite the fact that the theatre was repainted in March 2011, the complementary colour scheme for the auditorium remained unchanged.
