The Museum in the Park is located in Stroud, Gloucestershire, on the lovely grounds of Stratford Park. The collection portrays the intriguing storey of the scenery and people of the Stroud District from within the old mansion.
Their collection, which is housed in a Grade II listed 17th-century wool merchant’s house, presents the fascinating tale of the Stroud District’s rich and varied history. There is something for everyone among the nearly 4,000 things on show, including dinosaur bones, historical paintings, and even one of the world’s first lawnmowers!
Aside from the major exhibits in the manor home, they have a new extension with a modest gift store and café area and a modern, purpose-built art gallery with a changing schedule of shows. Their newest addition to the space, a magnificent contemporary Walled Garden, is located behind this.
They are happy to have something to offer visitors of all ages at the Museum, and they warmly welcome families and groups. The exhibits were created with as many people in mind as feasible. Many of the rooms have interactives and toys, and some even have child-friendly peek holes in the cabinets!
