At the museum, the dynamic contribution of Berkshire to aviation history is visually re-created in a variety of media. The museum, which is operated as a charity trustee, is located on the historic site of Woodley Airfield, near Reading, United Kingdom, which was formerly the heart of the booming aviation industry. The aircraft produced at Woodley, including the Miles and Handley Page, are being reconstructed and shown, together with interesting photographic recordings and irreplaceable archives. Welcoming groups of all sizes, the museum also offers an active teaching programme for schools that is aligned with National Curriculum standards and demonstrates the evolution of aviation skills. Arrangements can be made for schools and other groups to visit outside of usual business hours.
