The magnificent gardens at Ness, on the Wirral Peninsular, bordering the Dee Estuary, were created in 1898 by Arthur Kilpin Bulley, a Liverpool cotton trader with a passion for gardening and plant collecting. The grounds are now managed by the National Trust. Tatton Park’s beautiful 64-acre gardens have earned an impressive slew of accolades, including Large Attraction of the Year for Cheshire and Liverpool City Region as well as the highly coveted RHS Gold Medal display garden at the RHS Flower Show. Guests to the Horsfall Rushby Garden of Distinction are greeted with a warm welcome at the Horsfall Rushby Visitor Centre. Ness Botanische – showcase garden designed by TV personality and gardens designer Chris Beardshaw, and Making Waves garden designed by award-winning designer Pippa Probert are among the attractions of the botanical garden. Their newly opened restaurant, The Garden Kitchen, delivers high-quality, locally sourced fare, while the Garden Grub kiosk in the garden provides quick and easy snacks. Throughout the year, there is a diverse calendar of activities to attend.
