Nottingham Castle is a stunning castle that was constructed in 1068. It was built when William the Conqueror ordered the construction of a castle at Nottingham, as he aimed to fortify Norman power over central and northern England.
The Castle became a royal place by 1330 and was the scene of a bloody coup when supporters of the young Edward III entered the Castle. King Richard III departed from Nottingham Castle before the famous Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
These days, the Castle is used to hose some incredible exhibitions, experience and events, while giving visitors the chance to experience a piece of history!
