This is a lovely and private landscape garden from the 18th century.
Prior Park, which was built in the 18th century by local industrialist Ralph Allen with help from ‘Capability’ Brown and the poet Alexander Pope, has one of only four Palladian bridges in the globe.
Visitors can enjoy wonderful views of Bath from the garden, which is nestled in a rolling valley. The Serpentine Lake, Cascade, and Cabinet have all been restored as part of the ‘Wilderness’ restoration.
The Bath Skyline, a six-mile circular trail that includes stunning woodlands and meadows, an Iron Age hill fort, Roman towns, 18th-century follies, and spectacular views, is only a five-minute walk away.
