The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, which has won several awards, has one of the largest aircraft collections in the United Kingdom. In three wartime hangars and the National Cold War Exhibition, 70 vintage aircraft are on exhibit.
This historic structure houses 18 aircraft, military transport, missiles, souvenirs, interactive kiosks, and information centres. In a unique fashion, the show reflects the social, cultural, and political history of the Cold War era, from 1947 to 1989. The only site in the UK where you may see Britain’s V Bombers: the Vulcan, Victor, and Valiant are among the highlights. A Dakota, Canberra, Meteor, Lightning, and Javelin are among the planes that have been suspended in flight. From an elevated viewing gallery, visitors may observe them.
Whatever the weather, everyone from tiny children to adults will enjoy a day at the RAF Museum Cosford. Fun ‘n’ Flight will captivate both children and adults. It’s the simple method to answer all those questions about how planes stay in the air, and it’s packed with hands-on fun. Although admission to the exhibition is free, there are paid experiences available such as the Advanced Flight Simulator and the 4D Experience, which provide visitors with 3D animated visuals with the added dimension of dynamic seat movements, water spray, leg ticklers, and smoke effects in a purpose built theatre.
The Refuel Restaurant is located in the Visitor Centre and serves hot and cold meals as well as snacks. Within The National Cold War Exhibition, there is a Citroen refreshments van as well as a well-stocked Museum Shop.
