The trust is a non-profit organisation that funds a variety of renovations in Christian worship structures throughout Somerset’s ancient county. The Trust’s approximately 600 active members include individuals, families, churches, and organisations.
Many of the buildings in Somerset are historically significant, architecturally fascinating, or aesthetically pleasing, and they are often situated in little towns with low populations. Since the Trust’s foundation, they have funded projects that improve or provide facilities and access, but as the need for religious structures to play a larger communal role becomes more important, they have broadened their mandate to include projects that improve or provide facilities and access.
