The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum, which is housed on the former RAF Doncaster site, houses a significant collection of aircraft and helicopters dating from the dawn of flying to the present day. From biplanes flown at the 1909 Doncaster Airshow (the first airshow in the United Kingdom) through military fast jets like the Harrier and Meteor, as well as civil light aircraft seen all over the world.
There’s something for everyone in this collection, which includes several aircraft that are unique in preservation, as well as a full host of recognisable favourites, cockpits, and interactive exhibitions that are open all year. The museum is a terrific draw regardless of the weather, whether it’s bright sunshine or pouring rain! A little cafe serves hot and cold beverages, as well as cakes, snacks, and ice cream, at their shop. They’ll have something for you whether it’s hot or cold, rain or shine! Indoor seating is offered in the shop, and outdoor seating is available across the property.
