A short distance outside of Tamworth in the county of Staffordshire lies Statfold Barn Farm, which is home to the Statfold Barn Railway, which, under the direction of owners Graham and Carol Lee over the last fifteen years, has grown to become what is unquestionably the most significant collection of narrow gauge locomotives in the United Kingdom. With more than 30 steam locomotives and several internal combustion locomotives, representing the majority of British and several foreign manufacturers, the collection is impressive. Due to the recent formation of the Statfold Narrow Gauge Trust, the survival of this rare collection is assured well beyond the lifetimes of its owners and their descendants. In addition as open days and enthusiast days for the general public, Statfold also offers Driver Experience Days as well as educational tours and special events such as Santa Express Trains, Halloween Steam & Scream, and other themed events.
