Swanaford Estate is a small, family vineyard producing award-winning sparkling and still wines from grapes grown on their south-east-facing slopes in the Teign Valley. The 10-acre vineyard, located six miles to the southwest of Exeter, is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier to create superb traditional-method sparkling wines. In addition, they have two blocks of still varieties planted – Bacchus and Siegrebbe – which produce delicious, easy-drinking white wines.
Swanaford Estate’s guided tours are a wonderful way to experience the Devon countryside and enjoy some award-winning English wine. They take place almost every Friday evening (5.30pm), Sunday morning (11.30am), and Wednesday afternoon (2pm) throughout the summer.
This is a relaxed and friendly tour experience that includes a walk in the vines before returning to the estate’s tasting barn to try all of their wines.
The tour and tasting take around 90 minutes. Children under 18 are free and dogs on leads are welcome.
