The Edge Theatre and Arts Centre is a community-focused facility for theatre and creative workshops, located on the grounds of the ancient Chorlton Methodist Church.
Since its inception in 2011, the 70-seat theatre has hosted both touring and in-house productions, as well as the occasional stand-up comedy show or panel discussion. The theatre’s high arched ceiling and huge floor stage make it a unique place to see new plays, and the three studio rooms frequently offer seminars and workshops for individuals of all ages, ranging from adult singing, dance, and painting to young theatrical groups.
The theatre strives to help individuals who are just starting out in the industry by offering audition courses and providing rehearsal space for new plays. The Edge also houses a variety of community programmes aimed at introducing jobless and handicapped individuals to the arts. The Dressing Room café is also a fantastic place to grab a bite to eat before the show or a quick cup of coffee.
