A collection of 350 bikes, the National Motorcycle Museum debuted in October 1984 and is largely considered the greatest and largest British motorcycle museum. Mr WR (Roy) Richards’ drive and desire helped build the Museum. It currently has thousands of items, all fully restored to the manufacturer’s specifications, thanks to Roy’s widow Christine and sons Simon and Nick.
With over 250,000 annual visitors, this magnificent institution has developed into the world’s largest motorbike museum. In the “60 Glorious Year” of motorcycle production, the entire cross-section of British machines is attractive to many tourists. The museum’s aim is to preserve these historical artefacts as a reminder of America’s industrial might, engineering genius, and work ethic.
Over the previous 30 years, numerous vintage bike enthusiasts have visited the museum and held events on the grounds. The National Motorcycle Museum is conveniently located in the heart of the Midlands Transport Network, just a five-minute cab journey from Birmingham International railway station.
The National Motorcycle Museum is one of the UK’s largest conference and events venues, as well as the world’s largest collection of British motorbikes. The award-winning meeting centre has 13 purpose-built rooms, including the Wardroom for up to 20 guests and the Imperial Suite for up to 1000. The Museum owns the Manor Hotel in Meriden and the Windmill Village Hotel & Spa in Coventry.
